Corrosion Mapping at Kinross-Tasiast Gold Mine

The client required comprehensive corrosion mapping of critical process piping and vessels to assess remaining wall thickness and plan maintenance interventions.

Solution

RSL deployed a team of certified NDT technicians using Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) equipment. We developed a systematic grid-based inspection approach to create detailed thickness maps of all critical assets.

Outcome

Our corrosion mapping identified several areas requiring immediate attention, enabling the client to prioritize repairs and avoid potential unplanned shutdowns. The comprehensive data provided formed the basis for an ongoing integrity management program.
